PUMP MALFUNCTION LEADS TO BWA IN TINY MALLARD, MB
When a pump malfunctioned in Mallard's water system on January 6, a portion of the system lost pressure and a boil water advisory was issued to about 30 residents on the distribution system. The pump is fixed but it is mandatory to issue an advisory when the system loses pressure," says town CAO Jessica. "We sent the samples to the lab in Winnipeg about 3 hours away, this morning."
"I am not sure exactly how many people were affected but there are only 150 residents n Mallard so I would think about 30 of them were advised to boil through a bulletin we sent out. We're a small community so word spreads pretty fast across the population," she says.
Mallard, Manitoba is located on the southeast end of Waterhen Lake, approximately 334 kms northwest of Winnipeg. The source of water for Mallard is a drilled well.
