WATER ADVISORY WRAP-UP

2019/1/17 12:00 pm

Nova Scotia Advisory Map

In Nova Scotia, BWAs were issued to La Shoppe Verte (Digby County) and to Enfield Estates (HRM County). A previously issued BWA to Noelle's Country Market was rescinded.

Québec Advisory Map

In Québec, partial, preventive BWAs were issued to a portion of the community of Les Cèdres and City of Saint-Constant, both due to aqueduct repairs. In the City of Montréal, a previously issued partial BWA was lifted while 2 have been issued in different burroughs; advisory causes were not stated. We previously reported that the City of Bromont had decided to issue preventive BWAs following water interruptions for repairs. Today however, they removed the advisories and there are currently none in effect.

British Columbia Advisory Map

In British Columbia, CRD (Central Regional District) released an update regarding the previously issued blue-green algae advisory for Elk Lake, originally issued in November. The update reports that the advisory is still in effect and users are to take the appropriate precautions.

Two previously issued First Nation BWAs were lifted by FNHA (First Nation Health Authority), one to Shackan Community Water Service, and the other to Seton Lake Cabins CWS. At this time, there remains only one short-term BWA in effect.

Saskatchewan Advisory Map

In Saskatchewan, PDWAs (Precautionary Drinking Water Advisories) were issued to SE Corman Park Rural Water Corp due to SaskWater repairs on the supply pipeline, a portion of the community of Rocanville due to a line break or pressure loss in the distribution system, and to a portion of one street in the town of Hague due to a water hydrant leak and subsequent repairs. Previously issued PDWAs to the Village of Conquest, Town of Lanigan and Town of Leader, were rescinded.

Newfoundland Advisory Map

In Newfoundland, a partial BWA (Boil Water Advisory) was issued to Ramea-Northwest Pond; due to the water distribution system undergoing maintenance or repairs.
