WATER ADVISORY WRAP-UP

2018/6/12

In British Columbia a Boil Water Notice (BWN) was issued to Koocanusa Ranch Development, in Wardner (Kootenay) due to water treatment equipment failure, while in Thompson-Cariboo-Sushwap, a previously issued BWN to Pritchard Community Water System, due to excessive turbidity, has been downgraded to a Water Quality Advisory by TNRD (Thompson Nicola Regional District) in collaboration with Interior Health. The NHA (Northern Health Authority) has issued a BWN to Eagle Pointe Lodge (Wales Island) as sample testing has revealed the presence of E.coli in the water. The Regional District of Central Okanagan (RDCO) has asked residents and users of the small Star Place Water System to limit their water use. The request is being made in order to avoid any water quality advisory that may be required following the cleaning of the intake pond scheduled for this evening.

Peterborough has two municipal beaches which are tested daily (Mon-Fri), plus 18 county beaches of which 5 are only tested once monthly. The other 13 are tested at least once weekly. The first tests were conducted on the two municipal beaches and 10 of the 13 county beaches. All 12 tested safe for swimming.
