WHITE LAKE ON: CEDAR COVE RESORT BWA LIFTED BUT COVID MEASURES
ARE A REMINDER THAT THE RESORT IS NOT OUT OF THE WOODS YET

Suzanne Forcese

Cedar Cove Resort nestled along 3000 feet of White Lake Waterfront. The park is an hour west of Ottawa.
A new lodge was built in 2012. There is something for everyone – from sandy beaches
to boat rentals, a heated pool, winter activities, and a year round restaurant.

A Boil Water Advisory issued on 8/19/2020 to Cedar Cove Resort due to an adverse reading was lifted 8/23/2020.

WATERTODAY spoke with Cassie King who told us signs were posted throughout the resort keeping guests informed.

The gated private park has 271 fully serviced seasonal sites, 8 short term camping sites, cottages, 138 seasonal dock slips, and 36 kayak racks.

Although the summer has been difficult, the resort has made forward steps in allowing guests a new version of normal during these challenging times.
  • The pool will be lifeguarded 5 days per week allowing a maximum of 15 persons.
  • The Lakeside Grill will open for dine in and patio service by reservation only
  • The Washhouse laundry facility has re-opened

“Please remember that with restrictions lightening, we are still asked to keep our groups to 10 people and to still physically distance.

“All guests must wear a mask,” King said. “Our cottages are closed and public washrooms are closed. We only allow rec vehicles with their own facilities. We also had to close down our recreational programs.”

The resort has managed to keep student staff members “but we did not hire any additional staff this summer,” King told WT. With everyone’s cooperation “we can keep these much-missed luxuries and continue to move forward.”

Cedar Cove is taking cottage reservations for 2021.

Here is a past glimpse of what many are hoping for in a brighter future.
