SAINT-PAULIN, QC: BWA AT LE BALUCHON ECO RESORT ISSUED AFTER HEAVY RAINS
This story is brought to you in part by Sourceia - Eco-houses
On May 27, a boil water advisory (BWA) was issued for Le Baluchon Eco Resort in Saint-Paulin, Québec. The Ministère du Développement durable, Environnement et Lutte contre les changements climatiques (MDDELCC) published lists offered no further information on what affected the water quality at the resort.
We contacted the resort for more information on the advisory and what is being done to address it.
Patricia Brouard, Media Contact for Le Baluchon Eco Resort, explained that they "get their water from a well system."
The advisory was issued after "the region experienced several downpours in a short period," Brouard said, and "rainwater entered the well."
The advisory has had little effect on the resort's business, Brouard assured that "clients are being provided with bottled water, and advisory notices are posted at all entrances in all buildings, as well as indications that the water is not safe to drink in all the rooms."
Water samples have been taken and sent for testing on Monday and Wednesday. Brouard said that the "are waiting on the results of the second test, [which] should arrive by the weekend." The advisory is expected to be lifted at that time.
