WATER ADVISORY WRAP-UP

Nova Scotia Advisory Map
In Nova Scotia, Boil Water Advisories (BWAs) were issued to Tidal Bore Rafting Resort (Hants County), Sherose Island Recreation
Complex (Shelburne), Royal Canadian Legion Branch 124 (Victoria), Nakile Nursing Home (Yarmouth). Previously issued BWAs to Marion Bridge
Shopping Centre and Around the Bend Restaurant, were rescinded.
Saskatchewan Advisory Map
In Saskatchewan, PDWAs (Precautionary Drinking Water Advisories) were issued to Endeavour Waterworks due to water main repairs,
and to Windthorst Village due to depressurization of the distribution system. A PDWA was issued to Country Hills Catering (near Herbert)
due to detection of Total Coliforms in the drinking water system with the source as yet, undetermined. PDWAs were also issued to the
Northern Village of Ile a la Crosse due to a temporary water service line connection, and the Northern Hamlet of Michel Village due to
depressurization caused by a water main break. Advance notice of a PDWA was issued to Moose Mountain Provincial Park in order to accommodate
upcoming reservoir cleaning; the advisory will be in effect Oct 18th.
Ontario Advisory Map
In Ontario, a BWA was issued to a portion of the Village of South River (west of Algonquin Park) due to a water main break.
A blue-green algae (cyanobacteria bloom) advisory for the southwest portion of Frenchman's Bay, near Sunrise Avenue in Pickering,
was issued by the Ministry of Environment, Conservation and Parks (MECP) to Durham Regional Health.
Québec Advisory Map
In Québec, a preventive partial BWA was issued in the City of Bromont due to an aqueduct break, while in Rouyn-Noranda,
2 BWAs are currently in effect, one due to repair works and the other due to an aqueduct break. In the City of Lévis, a preventive
BWA was issued to the Saint-Nicolas district, also due to an aqueduct break. BWAs were issued to the Saint-Liguori municipal
water distribution system, and to the Base de plein air Bon Départ non-municipal distribution system, located in Wentworth-North.
A previously issued BWA was lifted in the municipality of Coteau-du-Lac while another was issued; both advisories are related
to aqueduct network breaks. Advance notice of a partial BWA was issued in the municipality of Sainte-Catherine due to system
depressurization; the advisory will be in effect Oct 15.
Newfoundland Advisory Map
In Newfoundland, a BWA was issued to Ming's Bite (Middle Brook Pond) due to the absence of free chlorine residual detected in
the water distribution system.
British Columbia Advisory Map
In British Columbia, a BWN (Boil Water Notice) was issued to Howe Sound Pulp and Paper due to water treatment failure or malfunction
with insufficient water treatment. A WQA (Water Quality Advisory) was issued to Copper Cove Properties due to unacceptable water quality
results, microbiological, while Celista Utilities was issued a BWN, also due to unacceptable water quality results.
Alberta Advisory Map
In Alberta, 2 partial BWAs are in effect in Red Deer due to water leaks. A blue-green algae (cyanobacteria bloom) advisory for
areas of Chin Reservoir (MD Taber) was issued by Alberta Health Services.
Manitoba Advisory Map
In Manitoba, a BWA was issued to Cormorant North community water system, the reason for which was not stated; the advisory is listed
as short-term.
