WATER ADVISORY WRAP-UP

Ontario Advisory Map
In Ontario, the Ministry of Environment, Conservation and Parks (MECP) has confirmed the presence of blue-green algae
(cyanobacteria bloom) on Kakakiwaganda Lake and has issued an advisory to Sudbury Public Health for appropriate dissemination.
A previous BWA (Boil Water Advisory) in the Town of Moosonee has been rescinded. A limited BWA was issued in the Village of South River
due to a water main break.
British Columbia Advisory Map
In British Columbia, a BWN (Boil Water Notice) had been issued to the Sun Valley Water System on Oct 17 due to elevated turbidity.
Two days later, another BWN was issued, this time due to pump replacement. This is a project which will take some time to complete and
the advisory, precautionary in nature, will remain in effect until the pump project is complete. In the Kootenay region, BWNs were issued
by Interior Health (IH) to Fairmont Ski Hill due to water treatment equipment failure, Glade Water Improvement Society, and Nelson &
District Credit Union, both due to unacceptable water quality results (microbiological). Summit Creek Cabins was issued a BWN by IH
although it is located in Alberta, straddling the border between the two provinces. Trans-Canada Pipelines-Kingsgate Station Water
System was also issued a BWN by IH, due to chemical and physical water quality parameters in excess of acceptable concentrations. In the
Okanagan a Water Quality Advisory (WQA) was issued to EZ RV Park due to unacceptable water quality results, while in
Thompson-Cariboo-Shuswap, BWNs were issued to the District of Barriere Water System for routine maintenance, and to Sunnyside
Supermarket due to unacceptable water quality results.
Québec Advisory Map
In Québec, a previously issued BWA in the Buckingham sector of Gatineau has been rescinded. In the municipality of Mirabel,
4 new partial BWAs were issued, three of which are in effect today, while the 4th is effective tomorrow. A BWA was issued in the
municipality of Saint-Justin, the reason for which was not stated. Preventive BWAs were issued to the town of Dolbeau-Mistassini
due to turbidity problems at the filtration plant serving the area, and to the residents of one street in the municipality of Saint-Majorique-de-Grantham due to an aqueduct break. A previously issued BWA in the Town of Sutton was lifted.
Saskatchewan Advisory Map
In Saskatchewan, partial PDWAs (Precautionary Drinking Water Advisories) were issued in the community of St. Isidore de Bellevue due
to water main repairs, the Village of Drake due to a broken water main, and in the Village of Margo due to water line repairs. Advance
notification of a PDWA, effective Nov 1st was issued to the Town of Maidstone due to a water main repair. An EBWO (Emergency Boil Water Order)
has been issued to Keeper's Restaurant in Davidson due to contamination resulting from either construction, repair or operation, with
E. coli having been detected in the public water supply.
Newfoundland Advisory Map
In Newfoundland, 2 previously issued BWAs were rescinded, one in Corner Brook and the other in Heart's Delight-Islington.
Alberta Advisory Map
In Alberta, a previously issued BWA to Milk River has been rescinded.
Nunavut Advisory Map
In Nunavut, a partial BWA was issued in Iqaluit due to water service interruption in connection with the infrastructure repair and water
loss reduction projects.
Manitoba Advisory Map
In Manitoba, a short-term BWA was issued to Baldur Public Water System, the reason for which was not stated.
