Newfoundland and Labrador Advisory Map

In Newfoundland and Labrador, in Happy Valley-Goose Bay, a BWA was issued to several streets due to unexpected interruption in the water distribution line caused by a break in the line and upon completion of repairs to that line. Previously issued BWAs were rescinded for St. Georges Wellfield and Cooks Harbour. In St. John's this morning, a water main break affected the downtown core and repairs have been ongoing. Affected residents may experience no water, low water pressure or discoloured water however no drinking water advisory has been issued. It is estimated that repairs will be completed by 6pm.


British Columbia Advisory Map

In British Columbia, a WQA was issued by the Regional District of North Okanagan, to Delcliffe Water System due to high turbidity. Advance notice of a BWN was issued by the Regional District Central Kootenay to Duhamel Water System; the advisory will be in effect May 27 due to system maintenance. Fraser Health Authority issued a BWN to Sasquatch Provincial Park-Deer Lake Water System due to unacceptable levels of microbiological contamination detected in the drinking water supply.


Ontario Advisory Map

In Ontario, a BWA was issued to all of the Pickle Lake Drinking Water Distribution System due to entire mainline depressurization when the system is recharging drinking water.


Québec Advisory Map

In Québec, in Rouyn-Noranda, a previously issued BWA was lifted while another was since issued to residents at one civic address, reason not stated. In Sainte-Catherine, advance notice of water interruption and preventive BWA was issued for several streets due to work on the aqueduct, to be in effect May 19. A Provincial Government issued BWA is in effect for the St-Jacques-le Mineur municipal drinking water system, reason not stated. In Trois-Rivières, one of four previously issued preventive BWAs was lifted. In Saint-Constant this morning, water was interrupted to a portion of one street due to an aqueduct break; a preventive BWA will be in effect when water is restored.


Saskatchewan Advisory Map

In Saskatchewan, in Meadow Lake Provincial Park, PDWAs were issued to Greig Lake Campground, Kimball Lake Campground, Murray Doell Campground and Sandy Beach Campground due to seasonal system start-up. PDWAs were also issued to users of distribution line #2 in the Northern Hamlet of Michel due to system depressurization, and WaCasa RV Park due to seasonal system start-up. The City of Prince Albert issued a DWA to one street due to hydrant replacement.


Alberta Advisory Map

In Alberta, the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo (RMWB) has advised Fort McMurray residents they will be experiencing elevated chlorine levels in their water over the coming weeks as the Municipality takes steps to disinfect the potable water system from the impacts of flooding. The Deputy Chief Administrative Officer Matthew Hough states: "Using chlorine to disinfect the water lines is necessary and is Alberta Environment and Parks approved method in order to restore the water system as quickly as possible." RMWB plans to flush a higher than normal concentration of chlorine through the distribution system for approximately two weeks starting on Sunday, May 17. The Boil Water Advisory remains in place.
