Details:

KITIMAT COMMUNITY WATER SYSTEM –   

JANUARY 12 - WQA issued due to increased turbidity in the Kitimat River.

FEBRUARY 4 to 13 - BWN was in effect due to heavy rain causing high turbidity. All users were instructed to boil the water for at least 2 minutes before consumption.  

FEBRUARY 13 - WQA reinstated.

Under the Water Quality Advisory, the water is considered safe for general use however, Northern Health recommends as a precaution, residents with weakened immune systems including infants, children, the elderly, and those who are immunocompromised boiled the water at this time prior to consumption.
