WQA in effect February 25. Vancouver Coastal Health has applied a Permanent Water Quality Advisory to BC Parks hand-pump systems due to the inherent microbiological risk associated with untreated groundwater at publicly accessible sources.

Advisory documentation identified potential contamination pathways from backflow, nearby sources such as outhouses, campsites, vehicles, campfires, fuel storage, greywater discharge, blackwater holding tanks, and inadequate grading or drainage around the wellhead that may allow surface water infiltration.
