GRANDE PRAIRIE (Teepee Creek Water System) – DNC was in effect from March 9 for mechanical failure of the water filtration system.

BRITISH COLUMBIA

ISSUED

CHILLIWACK (Baker Trail Village Water System) – BWN issued March 12 due to unacceptable levels of microbiological contamination detected in drinking water supply.

COURTENAY (Sollans Road Pump) – DNC issued March 10 due to elevated MANGANESE and IRON levels.

FIELD Community Water System – BWN issued March 12 due to a broken water main.

KELOWNA (SPCA 76586) – BWN issued March 11 due to water treatment equipment failure; Unacceptable water quality results (microbiological).

PAUL LAKE Waterworks – BWN issued March 10 due to insufficient treatment or disinfection residual.

POWELL RIVER Reformed Church – WQA issued March 10 due to the lack of secondary disinfection; Source water is from a shallow well which is susceptible to environmental influences and surface contamination. As per Vancouver Coastal Health Inspection report, this facility’s last bacteriological sample was submitted in 2022.

SOUTH HAZELTON Community Water System – WQA issued March 12 due to water reservoirs will be taken offline to complete necessary maintenance and cleaning from March 12 to March 20.  
As a result of this work, higher turbidity levels may occur. High turbidity can make it easier for microorganisms to remain present in the water. While the water is still considered safe for most users, people with weakened or undeveloped immune systems (e.g., elderly people; pregnant women; children under the age of two; people with AIDS, cancer, diabetes or kidney disease; people being treated with immuno-suppressing medications) may wish to take extra precautions, such as: 1) boil water for at least one minute and let it cool before using; 2) use bottled water; or 3) use an alternative approved source of water.

TERRACE (Copper Estates Water System) – WQA issued March 13 due to water system reservoir cleaning and maintenance that will result in elevated turbidity and chlorine levels. People with undeveloped or weakened immune systems are encouraged to boil water before consuming.

TERRACE (Kasiks Wilderness Resort) – BWN issued March 12 due to a line break.

THORNHILL Community Water System – WQA issued March 13 due to water system reservoir cleaning and maintenance that will result in elevated turbidity and chlorine levels. People with undeveloped or weakened immune systems are encouraged to boil water before consuming.

LAKESHORE Water System – March 10 The Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen (RDOS) reminds all users of the Lakeshore Water System (formerly Lakeshore Water Works) that a Boil Water Notice (BWN) remains in effect for the entire water system.

OLALLA Water System – March 11 The RDOS reminds all users that a Water Quality Advisory (WQA), along with chlorination of the water system, remains in effect for the entire water system.

SAGE MESA Water System – March 11 The RDOS reminds all users in the Lower Zone that the permanent Boil Water Notice (BWN) remains in effect.

SKAHA ESTATES Water System – March 11 The RDOS reminds all users that a Boil Water Notice (BWN) remains in effect for the entire water system. Water sampling results continue to report the presence of Total Coliforms and background bacteria within the water distribution system.
