UPDATE
OLALLA Water System – WQA in effect November 6. Based on recent bacteriological results, the Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen (RDOS), in consultation with Interior Health, have downgraded the Boil Water Notice that has been in effect since April 24, 2025. Total coliforms and background bacteria have been periodically reported since August 2024; the BWN was the result of an increase in the frequency and quantity being reported. The source of the contamination has yet to be determined in spite the substantial testing completed by the RDOS. As a result, the System will remain chlorinated for the foreseeable future. Currently, there is no treatment system in place for the groundwater (a single deep well), supplying the Water System. Typically, the System is monitored for potential contamination and undergoes periodic flushes and temporary chlorination as needed. This System serves approximately 250 connections.
