WATER ADVISORY WRAP-UP
2018/10/18 12:00pm
Québec Advisory Map
In Québec, a partial, preventive BWA is in effect today in the Village of Bromont; this is the second advisory issued
in the past few days, both due to water interruptions related to work on the aqueduct. In the City of Sainte-Catherine, a second
preventive BWA has been issued to the same area issued a BWA three days ago; both advisories relate to low water pressure. In
Cookshire-Eaton, a BWA was issued to an individually owned, non-municipal water distribution system; the advisory cause was
not stated. In Rouyn-Noranda, a previously issued partial BWA was rescinded while another was issued, affecting one street only.
The City of Bécancour was rated a 5-star water quality rating for 2017, at the 41st Symposium on Water Management, held on Oct 10-11
in Saint-Hyacinthe. The annual symposium, organized by Réseau Environnement: "brings together more than 350 municipal
stakeholders, professionals from the drinking water, wastewater and rainwater sectors, as well as researchers and consultants. The perfect
opportunity to update knowledge and know-how; over 30 conferences covering a variety of water-related subjects."
British Columbia Advisory Map
In British Columbia, the Regional District of Central Kootenay has extended a WQA (Water Quality Advisory) to the Burton Water System;
the original advisory was issued back in January 2017 and has since been in effect as a precautionary measure. The water has been continually
monitored and the most recent analyses have indicated the presence of low levels of Coliform bacteria.
Saskatchewan Advisory Map
In Saskatchewan, Precautionary Drinking Water Advisories (PDWAs) were issued to the Town of Central Butte due to a water main repair
resulting in system wide depressurization, and to a portion of the Town of Gravelbourg due to depressurization of the distribution system.
Manitoba Advisory Map
In Manitoba, a short-term BWA was issued to Angusville Public Water System, the reason for which was not stated.
Newfoundland Advisory Map
In Newfoundland, a BWA was issued to Jackson's Arm due to the system undergoing maintenance or repairs. A previously
