WATER ADVISORY WRAP-UP
2018/10/19 12:00pm
Nova Scotia Advisory Map
In Nova Scotia, Boil Water Advisories (BWA) were issued to Forest Hill Shopping Centre (HRM County) and Milton Christian Church
(Queens); advisory causes were not stated. Previously issued BWAs to Oldfield Elementary School, Ellershouse General Store, Tidal Bore
Rafting, and Nakile Nursing Home were rescinded.
Québec Advisory Map
In Québec, a BWA was issued to the Saint-Michel-des-Saints municipal water distribution system, the reason
for which was not stated. Previously issued BWAs have been rescinded in Coteau-du-Lac, Pointe-Claire, Joliette and Ragueneau.
In Bromont, a water interruption was reported yesterday along with a notice that a boil water advisory would possibly be in effect after
the water was restored. It was reported today, that the BWA was not necessary as the water was safe to drink.
In the Hull Sector of Gatineau, the multi-day BWA period will be starting tomorrow Oct 20 in order to accommodate major repairs/
maintenance to the regional water treatment plant. In the City of Carignan, it was reported this morning that a breakage at the water treatment
plant had occurred and technical staff were dealing with the problem without having to interrupt water service, therefore a BWA
had not been issued. However it was possible that an advisory would need to be issued should the situation demand a water stoppage. Residents were
advised to continue checking the municipal website for updates.
Saskatchewan Advisory Map
In Saskatchewan, a partial Precautionary Drinking Water Advisory (PDWA) was issued to a portion of the Town of Churchbridge due to
a water main break, while in the Village of Middle Lake, a partial PDWA was issued for scheduled maintenance.
New Brunswick Advisory Map
In New Brunswick, a Boil Water Order was issued to Birchwood Estates in Hanwell due to a power outage causing loss of pressure.
British Columbia Advisory Map
In British Columbia, the Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen issued a WQA (Water Quality Advisory) to the Sun Valley Water
System due to elevated turbidity levels.
